Teo Kefalopoulos is a self taught fine art photographer based in Alexandria, Greece. After making some valuable first steps into classic landscape photography, soon after, the very essence of his relation with imagery evolved immensely through black and white fine art photography. He is currently focused to minimal, long exposure and architecture photography and is leading private and group workshops on location and online. In 2019 he was accepted as a member of the Royal Photographic Society (R.P.S.) and has received the distinction of Associate in Fine Art (A.R.P.S. - Fine Art), a very high standard of recognition. Currently, he is preparing the works for the ultimate R.P.S. recognition, the distinction of Felloswhip in Fine Art (F.R.P.S. - Fine Art).
insight
The presented works are the result of a continuous study on the interpretation of the subject matter as art. Once a scene or a subject qualifies as a frame, a personal vision of it is conceived and the intention is not to capture or document reality but to create art through photographic means. This process is reflecting the intent to create a more desirable reality and bring forth artistic interest to common and insignificant subjects and scenes.
Interest is put to the sense of minimalism, isolation and introvert mood. This is achieved by using specific capture techniques and atmosphere-specific post processing. Editing is kept at a level of close connection to the actual scene, mostly by rejecting heavy photo manipulation or deceiving visual effects or compositing. Thus, the finished works always retain the value of genuine experience and connection to the original scene.
